CareersBuzz Breaks Cover at UEL
What a day, what a location, what a buzz! The photos can do most of the talking for now but I’ll be adding more to the story as we go. The short story is that this bus will be visiting UK schools, listening to (and learning with) students, teachers, head-teachers and careers professionals to find out what they want and what they need when it comes to 14-18 year olds meeting the world of work and careers for the first time. Everywhere it goes the CareersBuzz bus will have best-in-class people and resources on board to prove what’s possible and what can be done. Thanks to...

PAUL: Hello Willy, nice to meet you too. WILLY: Not sure why but my boss, Howard, said we should meet. Are you a new buyer from upstate? How long you gonna be in town? PAUL: Sorry to disappoint you...

What does a headline like this make you think? Did you think about the one million young people looking for work? The poor state of the country and the economy? The fact that everything was better in your day? Such thoughts are automatic responses to headlines like this. It’s not our fault, us human beings are just made that way. Newspapers should give away hot, sweet tea and a comfy sit-down with a headline like this. It would settle their readers’ jangling nerves but might would also create little moments of calm for us to see stories through the eyes of those directly involved....
